Panel Details: Glass panel with fully coupled autopilot

Paint Details: Marine F4U Corsair paint scheme and nose art. The Marine scheme pays credit to VMA-231 (The Ace of Spades) of Cherry Point, NC. A friend of mine, Lt. Colonel Eric Scott Anderson, flew Harriers in this squadron early in his career. During WWII, VMA-231 flew Corsairs in the Marshall islands for a brief time and were credited with seven kills while flying missions in this model aircraft (hence the seven kill flags). The nose art is a nostalgic rendering of my wife Glynnis. Outside of adding real beauty to the airplane, she has been unbelievably supportive of my aviation interests and of this building project. My first airplane was a Christen Eagle II. Glynnis cried like a baby the day that I sold it. How's that for support? My daughters, Amy and Erin, helped me throughout the build and were the first passengers following the completion of all test flights. Both girls have taken the controls and seem to have better natural skills than their dad. Their names are listed on the plane as crew members and their initials are painted in large letters on the tail. The N number was changed to N818PA after my father passed away in November 2007 from Leukemia. My dad, Jerry Ward, aka "Pa" (hence the Papa Alpha in the N#), helped me throughout the build project but unfortunately did not live to see the first flight. I know he would be very proud of our plane.
